How many firings?

Hi all
I was curious how many firing you typically get on your belted magnum brass?
I’m at 6 on my 300 WM Gunwerks brass. So far no neck splits or loose primer pockets. I do have the slightest little ring near the belt (pic below) at first I thought this maybe early case head separation. But at closer look I think it’s just the end of my FL RCBS size die. Whatcha think?
Btw I have my resizing die set so that it’s only changing the oal of the brass .001”.

Yup it's from your die, I see the same on the belted mag casings I reload. I have 8-9 reloads on my 300 Wthby cases with only a couple split necks, 6 reloads on my 257 Wthby and all good and 3 on my 7 Rem Mag I load larger quantities for this gun so it takes longer to go all the way thru them.

My 7 Rem mag looks the same. I would get about 5-6 from my match gun. My hunting rifle I shoot far less, and no where near as hot a load. I'd expect to get 10 or more from it.

much depends on your die and die set up. if you set up your cases like you would a beltless case you will get maximum case life if the die is a good fit to the chamber.

You might not ever need it, but if you find you have trouble chambering your brass after several firings (even after resizing), look into the Larry Willis collet die at larrywillis.com His die will resize that area right above the belt where full length sizing dies can't. It saved me a bunch of $$ when I rebarreled my .340 Wby, and the brass fired in the original barrel wouldn't chamber in the new barrel.

I typically get 6-8 out of 300WM. If you're curious, you can always mark a fired case with a sharpie in that area before resize to see what's going on with your die.

As stated that’s where the sizing die stops. Very common on belted cases.
Gunwerks brass is some very high quality brass. If you anneal every few firings it will last a while.
