How many firings should one expect to get out of Lapua 6.5 PRC. In case the details matter, these have all shot 156 Berger EOL, 58.5gr N565, annealing after each firing with AMP, and FL sizing bumping shoulders 2 thou. I've got a bath with 10-11 firings, no signs of issues. Wondering if I'm pushing it.

How your sizing die works with your chamber dimensions has a bigger influence on longevity than the load you are using. You won’t lose primer pockets in a PRC case unless you’re doing something stupid.

Don’t feel that you have to measure stuff and set the shoulder back a certain measurement.

Strip your bolt and adjust the sizing die by feel if you are after maximum case life

My box of Lapua brass had 101 pieces. The extra piece was used as a control and was loaded and shot ever time I went to the range as a fouler.

I never annealed it. I bumped the shoulder back .002, trimmed when necessary, and usually loaded it with 59g n565 and 140 ELD-M.

I think that 1 piece of brass had 14 or 15 firings on it when I finally lost it and it never had any signs of failure. Primer pocket was still tight for a CCI 200, neck wasn't split, and no issues setting proper neck tension.

This is super helpful! Thank you!
