How many big game rifles do you have?

Okay so I’ve held off as long as I could stand to but I’m starting to build a new rifle again. I do have some guilt because I don’t need it at all lol. I was hoping some of my fellow roksliders share the same illness as me and also that some of you have more than I do so I can make myself feel better 😬

So how many do you guys have anyway?

More than I’d care to admit. The justification of a new rifle, or caliber is a very simple one. That being said as I get older I continue to reach for the 1-2 rifles that have some sentimental value due to last hunts, and the fact that I have confidence in them.

but if my wife asks I have 3 guns, the other ones are ‘for parts’

We have 3 bolt action rifles set up to hunt big game.

4 others we don't hunt with.

Currently debating a muzzleloader as we have some points.

5, so probably more than I need. I like all of them so they are all keepers for me.

.243 Remington BDL, Fierce Edge 26 Nosler , Savage 7mm, Browning Hells Canyon X-Bolt .300 win mag, Model 48 33 Nosler

I have never done a build myself and that is something I would like to do next.

The answer to this changes often. Typically I have 2 "go to" rifles that I use for almost all of my hunts depending on terrain and what critter it is I'm chasing. All of my inherited rifles mostly live in the safe as they have a lot of sentimental value. Of course there are also the guns placed around the house for the 2 legged critters that can also double as hunting guns.

I've got 3 that could be classed as proper big game rifles - .308, .300WM, and 9.3x62.

The .30-30 doesn't get used enough to call it a 'big game' rifle, but I shot a couple of deer with it this year.

The .22lr, .222 and .243 all get used a hell of a lot. The .222 mainly shoots deer under spotlight and the .243 does shoot a lot of deer as well, but I wouldn't call a .243 a big game rifle when I have the other ones in the safe.

Interesting, thanks for the replies! I have a 7mm that was given to me by my grandparents that won’t ever get used so I don’t count that one haha.
I guess I’m not too terrible yet with my rifles then.

300 Lapua
28 Nosler
26 Nosler
6.5 PRC
And currently building an unecessary 280 AI 😬
