How high are mule deer in the Park Range?

I have an early rifle tag for the E. Side of Colorado's Park Range that opens Monday (9/28). I have never been to that part of the state before. I am inclined to hunt at timberline, but the reason they have this season is because the deer in North Park tend to migrate early. Does anyone have experience with deer in northpark who could tell me how high they might be? Not looking for your spot, just general guidance like 'higher than a Colorado teenager' or 'timbered up' or 'down low.'
