How far does 12x get you?

I hunt with a fixed 10x.
No issues up close.
Killed a critter this year at 450 yard with ease.
Practice shooting out to 600 with ease.

I also have a 6x, but I prefer the 10x

12x does not run out of steam well short of 500 yards in any hunting scenario.

You have better eyes than I do - prairie dogs get small really fast with 12x.

You have better eyes than I do, unless you’re only shooting dogs standing up out in the open. Nope, for a good small varmint gun, 12x falls short after 300 yards. I’ve had a 12x on a 22-250 since junior high and it was as true then as it is now.

Most definitely. Usually targets look more like the guy on the left than the one on the right, let alone one standing up.

12x is not getting you closer than closing the distance, lol. 6X on anything deer size and up is more than sufficient for a HUNTER.
