How does potato soup dry?

Anyone dehydrate potato/bacon soup?
Or do you just toss in an Idahoan potato packet and a pkg of bacon bits?

It dehydrates just fine. I make a cream of green chile soup with potatoes in it. Dehydrate it and throw bacon bits in the ziplock, then freeze until your trip.

I'm a big fan of the Idaho spud packets, the loaded version is pretty tough to beat. Another good one is Bear Creek potato soup.

I'm a fan of the Idahoan instant stuff as well. I have dehydrated other stuff but potato soup and potatoes in general can be obtained already dried on the cheap. One of my favorites, dehydrated turkey + instant stuffing + Idahoan potatoes + gravy mix + boiling water = instant Thanksgiving dinner

Thanks guys. Ok then, I'm adding it to my list of dehydrated leftovers.

Like many, I love the Idahoan "Loaded" packets as well.
They prepare so fast... way faster than dried meals.
And sometimes you just wanna eat & hit the sack.
I think I'll try spiking them w/ some dried ham/bacon bits, onions and freeze dried potato's, just to add a little texture.

Another solid is the Betty Crocker "sides". One alfredo noodle packet + 1 package of chicken makes a good meal. Costco is sellin these Rice/Quinoa packets that also go well with the chicken.
