How do you guys go on these cool hunts?

It's amazing what people will watch though. There's a guy that streams himself running a hot dog cart and he gets tens of thousands of views lol

Not sure if you are looking for career advice, spending advice, prioritization advice or other.

Maybe all of the above. Here's my brief story.

I came out all right at the end, but through my 20, 30, and early 40's I worked way to much, and got in a few hunts now and then, but not as much as I wanted. As my business grew, I realized I needed more time and less money, so just started taking a bunch of time off.

I'm not sure I should be giving advice because I'm not sure I did anything right. But, now. I can take multiple out of state trips every year and spend time hunting ducks and deer locally pretty much as often as I want. Spend a lot of time dog training and fixing my hunting crap (duck hunting is brutal on gear). So decide what you want your life to look like? And then go chase it with an intentional plan.

You pay for half of your buddies elk tag?
Yes. It’s both of our hunts. I guess I’m not completely worried about being the one to make the shot. I get 7 deer almost every year and plenty of other small game.
We both plan the trip. Im looking for elk just as much as him. And we split it.
We both have limited time off work and this keeps the cost down. If we shot two on the last day we would be up a creek. It’s a 25 hour drive for us, and we push it to the last minute. Maybe it doesn’t make sense for everyone but it gets me to the mountains and chasing elk every year. If I was a better shot with a bow we would actually be alternating. Maybe next year, I have to keep practicing. We talk about switching to a rifle season for me, but haven’t made the switch.

I need some help and I don’t know who better to ask than the guys doing it so here goes. How do you guys achieve the time freedom and the financial freedom to go on these cool hunts. I’m in Arkansas working at a factory I have no kids but I have a wife and a mortgage and I pretty much only get to hunt what’s local to me like whitetail and ducks. I’m looking for adventure.
The country as a whole needs electricians really bad.
All of the time off you want. All of the overtime you want. Easy 6 figures.
Your wife is going to steal your pension anyway you might as well get rid of her now while there's nothing in it. Get yourself a dog and a fleshlight lol.

I invest almost 20% of every check into the market.
I'd recommend buying XRP.

That's the worst advise I've ever heard.
Then you don't work construction.
Where the divorce rate is pushing 70%
I work with guys in their 80's on their 3rd, 4th, and 5th wives.

I stand by what i said.. ditch the woman. Get yourself a dog and a fleshlight.

Shift your content then. Keep it outdoor adventure related. Not all hunts needs to be big game either. Folks still like small game hunting, and the Ozarks are overrun with hogs.

Get after it. How about a 3 night backpacking hog hunt?
That’s a pretty good idea

Actually, I do work construction. It has nothing to do with your career choices, it has to do with your priorities and keeping the commitment you made to your spouse.

Also, guys who are in their 80s and still working construction with a half dozen x wifes obviously have made a plethora of bad choices through their lives. But hey, I'm not here to judge.

The friends that I know that hunt a lot are all self employed and they just started going on hunts in their 40's and 50's.I would try a side job or work over time when you can.You could go on a Hunt every few years if you wanted to.I know people who spend 6 figures every year on hunts.I can not Hunt with them.Hunt what you can hunt and try to be happy.A guided duck hunt in AR is not cheap these days! Good luck !!

So you started this thread to have YouTube video clicks fund your hunts? Or you started this thread because your YouTube channel wasn’t getting enough clicks?

I’m missing adventure and at the same time looking to hopefully grow a channel as a young guy but keep laughing. I’d honestly prefer if just the people looking to help a young guy would respond to this thread but that’s the internet for you.

You just smashed any good faith you were getting with one post.
I hate that I love this forum and I got some really helpful advice from some people on here if it’s that bad I’ll just not post anymore sorry for seeking advice.

I don't think you did anything wrong. You just mentioned your channel because someone else mentioned filming your hunts.

You asked about making more money and how to become able to take more hunting trips.

One of the guys who thinks there's something wrong with you mentioning that, thinks shooting his biggest buck of the year outta the road is ok. Whatever

Hike your own hike, don't worry about the naysayers
