How do you guys carry your rangefinder on spot and stalk hunts?

Justin, looks like my 750 is a little bigger than your 1000.

Here's the dimensions for the 750: 4.2L x 3.0 H x 1.63W

Here's the dimensions for the 1000: 3.8L x 2.8 H x 1.3W

Think there's enough play for it to not be an issue?

No I don't think so.

the easiest way i've found is to carry them inside your bino's ;)

cool!!
i think a small range finder has more stealth than a pair of binos, in bowhunting..but i would love a pair of Geovids for rifle hunts.

I keep mine in a small kifaru belt pouch, attached to the belt of my pack or frame. Right at my hip and out of the way. Works for me. Keeps it secure and not interfering if I'm in thick grass, brush, or crawling

I leave my RX750 in the pouch that came with it. I just ran the bottom right strap off of my S4 bino system through the pouch. It sets near the right side of my chest. Easy to get to and the pouch keeps the dust off of it.

Sooner, the pouch that it came in is a pain in the ass to get it out of.

The 1000 fills up the small pouch but if you get the larger size (I think there are two right) it should be no problem

rhendrix: probably a stupid question but have you tried the Nimrod rf pouch?
I think Nimrod's pockets and pouches are the best. Quiet, simple one-hand operation and they can be attached almost anywhere.
I've drifted away from the Nimrod bino harness but still use their pouches.
I only use a rangefinder during rifle season but I still use the pouch for camera or gps or holding calls during archery.

I did, I just wasn't impressed with the nimrod bino harness personally, I like the attachment system, but I could never get it to fit right.

I have a lanyard on mine and just tie it up high and tight around my neck and tuck it into the upper portion of whatever zip up I am wearing. I have never had a problem doing this and it seems to fall in perfectly above where my binoculars sit on my chest while being readily accessible.

I have about 3' of paracord attached on one end to the range finder and the other to a cheap a carabiner. I clip the carabiner to my belt loop and then tuck the range finder into my cargo pocket. Easy to remove to range and then I can just let
It hang while waiting to take the shot if I don't have time to put it back in my pocket and I will never leave it accidentally.

I use a loop of cord that is just large enough to fit over my head. Very little movement is needed to raise/lower the RF, and I can slip it under the shoulder strap of my bino harness if I need to keep it from bouncing. It is stupid simple but I have not found any better way to go. It seems like folks feel like they need to buy a "system" rather than use a simple, home-made solution.

So your saying just a loop with RF hanging around your neck?

I just loop the string around harness and cinch so that I don't loose it. Then I clip the RF to the side of bino harness or belt.

Great idea Slim!!! I need to make sure I do this with my AGC bino pack and rangefinder. Be a shame to lose it in the heat of a stalk.....again :) (Luckily Becca's dad found it by some sort of miracle last time)
