I'm looking at moving up a decade on my cell phone. It'll be a Samsung Galaxy....probably 26. Curious if anyone has a 25 or 26 ultra and if so, is it prohibitively big?

I'm currently using my s10 (standard size). I think I will like the extra size to read....but will I lose out on fitting pockets and will the stupid thing just break because it's hige?

Thanks in advance.

A lot of people use their phone like its their laptop or desk top computer. If that's you, then bigger is better. Personally, I hate my phone and use it for phone calls and an occasional text - no scrolling for me. I do play a game of cribbage from time to time when I'm board or waiting on someone. I am fine with the smaller iPhone version.

Yeah smaller is better for more basic usage. Fits in pockets better, and is lighter. I use mine for Gaia maps almost every time I am driving off-road, and occasionally when hiking. It’s so nice for map applications.

ive got a galaxy 21 ultra and find it to be too big. i have fairly large hands (size 10 glove) for reference, and i struggle to reach the far corners of the screen one-handed. also a little cumbersome in jeans. next go around i will downsize a bit.

oh also, i always have an otterbox on and obv that increases the size, so take that into account as well

This past year is the first time that I haven't gotten the largest size available. I moved from a galaxy S21 Ultra to the new Iphone Pro. I deliberated about which size to get, but decided to get the smaller option (which is nearly as big as my previous phone that was huge when it came out). My reasons were that I am in front of large screens all day at work every day and have larger screens available at home as well. I think the large phones are starting to blur the lines between phone and tablet and for me, I don't want a phone that may not fit in wader pockets, bino harness sleeves, etc. The Samsung also used to slide out of my pants pocket sometimes too, which I partly attribute to its size and partly to not having a grippy case on it.

iPhone user, so I’m not sure how sizes will compare. I went from a 12 mini to a 17 pro max. I regretted it for the first couple weeks, but now I’ve gotten used to it. The new phone definitely doesn’t fit in pockets as well, and is harder to use one handed. I do enjoy the larger screen size for mapping, but I don’t think it makes much of a difference for texting and emails. Bigger battery is another plus for the larger size.

It's such a personal preference thing.

I like to carry my phone in my pocket. I had the big iPhone last go around and went back to the std size now and like it better. My wife and son like the bigger iPhone

One thing to consider if you have an old phone is that the new phones view is the entire phone...there is no blacked out picture frame like with the old phones...which effectively makes them bigger.

I just went from the iPhone 13 standard size to the iPhone pro. It’s just a tad bigger in length by like 1/4”. The camera sticks out a bit more. I prefer the smaller or normal size phones. I just call, text and invoice on mine as well as pictures. I prefer the MacBook for everything else. I think it just depends on your actual needs

Samsung s24 ultra. Samsung phones works on space x star link satellite for texting only. Anywhere there is no service..

ive enjoyed the bigger batteries in the samsung ultra phones. Since youre upgrading from a s10, you will be amazed by battery life no matter what size you go with. I bought a oneplus 15 this year that has really impressed me for 900 bucks. battery life is legit 3 days for me.

The last Iphone update pissed me off so bad, I changed to a samsung 25. So far I like it but there are things I haven't figured out yet.

AT&T is so screwed up I had to go back to Verizon to get things functioning. In only two more days, I might get the transition accomplished. It's always so much fun when their representative can't speak English. I got so frustrated I was tempted to burn the phone in their lot and start from scratch and the phone is paid off.

I have a s25 Ultra in a Juggernaut case. Its pretty big in the case, but i just carry it in the cargo pocket of my pants. I absolutely love the phone tho, battery is amazing and the camera quality is outstanding. I use it to film my hunts.
