How are you guys keeping your scopes covered?

Butler creek flip opens have served me very well 25 years.

but Ryan and Jake mounted my scope on the 6UM and sent it with the full neoprene.

I wasn't sure if I'd like it but ran it a season and will likely stay with it.

Butler Creek pros: prolly faster because I can flip them at any time in the shot process vs the neoprene, I have to pull it off before I cheek weld (or let go of the pistol grip).

Neoprene pros: full scope protection, not just the lenses.

Butler Creek. They're the most low profile covers I've seen. I often carry my rifles in a Kolpin Gunboot on my quad to get to a spot and it was always a tight fit with others and if they fitted they would get ripped off trying to get the rifle out.

I like the scope bumpers after having just about every other cap on the market. They are pricey though.

A lot of caps on the market either don’t last a full season or make a stupid amount of noise. I’ve used bikini covers, which work, but since they aren’t attached to the gun it’s one more thing to forget.

Butler creek are probably the go to though

not cheap but these are best and most durable flip up caps that I've used.
Indeed! I finally gave up on Butler creek after trying to superglue them back together in the field multiple times. I bought one set of the AAdland flip covers and was impressed enough that now all of my scopes have a set on them.

Hate em all, ran neoprene on scope/mount for blaser k95 takedown in pack in pieces as protection only but cannot stand anything that slows me down when tag in pocket and past the no hunting lines. If it’s in the pack or on the pack I’m not really hunting so where I can’t be loaded and shooting. Protection ok. Have flipped canted butler creek objective on to correct holy fack thumb up angle quick on a ram blowing through at 35 yards flying out of a kifaru gun bearer but that is the exception, had a lot of time with that rifle and pack set up. Rather try to see through rain and snow than fack with anything. So many plastic and aluminum caps in my box of wasted money....whatever you want though. I should probably try to sell all the useless shit one of these days, still learning the hard way though...my kids can figure it out when I’m gone.

Every scope cover I used was annoying but also every scope cover I used was better then this.

This is a clip-on adapter and I do have a scope cover for it that's actually good. But I forgot it.

Basic neoprene has served me well but I’m trying out the scope bumper covers. Mega $ for sure. They are super nice and quick though…..

I did like the SG scope/action cover but found I still got snow in my trigger - I think the full wrap around action cover is a nice way to go for late season stuff.

Another Butler Creek flip up user. Yes they break occasionally but they’re cheap enough to have multiple backups in the drawer. I can’t match the low profile and speed of use the BC’s provide with any of the higher end caps. I do have some NF branded tenebraex caps on objective lenses but have stuck with BC for the eye piece regardless.

Neoprene cover on mine. If I expect a lot of bushwhacking or crappy weather I will add a Solo Hunter Rifle cover to add another layer of protection to the whole system.

IMG_6641.jpegI started with Butler Creeks then moved to a neoprene cover for simplicity and more protection for the scope body. Then last fall I lost the rubber o-ring on the eyepiece of a scope, presumably when removing the neoprene cover. Still looking for something durable and simple, that works in the rain.

Slip-on Neoprene-looking digital camo'd material cover, and they sew a loop into it on one side so I slide that loop over the rifle barrel and make sure it's BEHIND the sling-stud so if I need to quickly remove the scope, when my Quake Claw sling is on the rifle, it prevents this cover from falling off, if it just-so-happens the shot opportunity is very quick.

Most normally I can pull the cover off well ahead of time and while it's across my lap or legs on the sit... I make sure my non-trigger hand is holding that scope cover in my palm underneath the stocks foregrip, so nothing able to wiggle and throw-off aim if need to raise weapon to eye.

The outfit is called https://scopeshieldcover.com/

If you had a sewing machine it'd likely be way cheaper to just source the cover material, and something for the loop, and make one yourself DIY. But... they already have them in different sizes though, so it's convenient to just order 'em.
