How are you guys carrying your big LR guns?

Hey guys, my 338 Edge will be finished in a couple weeks and I was just wondering what type of carrying system yall are using.

I have the nomad and a have carried bewteen the wings with a grab it, and I have also carried on my shoulder. My new gun is going to be significantly larger than my 7mm, so shoulder carry may get old. It also takes a while to get it out from between the wings of the nomad.

I have a rambler on order, but saw another thread on here where the guy didn't like the rambler for his canyon rifle and went with a nomad and a eberle tactical scabbard.

What are you guys using?

Ever try the gun bearer with your big guns? How did it go?

I carried mine last year with a Duplex/EMR2 combo. I hung a Gunbearer on the right side and used the right side wing to hold it in place. It worked very well.

The webbing is wide and the bungee works like a shock absorber.

I carry it in my hand and when packing meat I just lashed it to my pack (bikini/gen II). Currently weighs 10# without a scope.

I use the Nomad and Eberlestock scabbard as well and really like it. My rifle just barely fits in the smaller scabbord. It's a manners t2 and nightforce nxs and it fits with the bipod attached.

I just got the gun bearer also so I cannot comment on comfort. But a friend of mine really liked it on his goat hunt two years ago. The reason I bought one. Bob.

The more I use the Rambler, the more I like it for carrying big rifles. Definitely a big step up from an Eberlestock.
