Homeowners isn't going to cover the guns. It will be a small amt, likely the value of one gun. You need a supplemental policy to specifically cover firearms.

This is a good reminder for people to do a few things.
Check and recheck your policy. Talk with your agent if necessary to clarify proper coverage on firearms and collectibles. Walk your house and take a video of everything you own in every room at least yearly. Make sure you store the video on the cloud or at least keep a second copy offsite.

Someone who has work or personal experience can probably add more but there's some good info in this thread:

You get a pretty good idea starting on post #40 and reading on. Most importantly, hire your own public adjuster because the adjuster working for your insurance company is going to try and screw you dry.

Former claims adjuster here. Read the policy, but usually the firearms sublimit only applies to theft. All other covered causes of loss (fire in this case) should be included up to the personal property limit shown on the declarations policy.

Unless they are sentimental, get the insurance money and buy new ones.

I carry a separate policy for that reason. Hope I never need to use it. Glad everyone is safe. You can always replace property, but we can't replace the people we know and love.
