I’m looking for new hiking pants, I have 5 pairs of first lite guide lites that I love, but I’ve been wearing them for years and they’re worn out. Since first lite discontinued them I’m looking for a replacement. I’m backpacking in southeast Oklahoma hunting and summer scouting and it’s super hot and humid in the summer and early bear season, so the guide lites have really been great being cool while not shredding in the green briars. Is there anything comparable? The wrangler atg don’t fit me well, the 28” waist pants are way too tight in the calves.

I’m considering the outdoor research Ferrosi pants as they seem to be the closest to the guide lites in being lightweight and cool. Up for suggestions

I've been wanting to check out KETL MTN. Just haven't pulled the trigger.

Maybe someone here has? They look incredibly light/breathable.

The Sitka ascent pants are what I wear in hot weather. The Columbia ones that zip off work well too. We're talking 100 degrees and 90% humidity type of heat.

Yeah not a fan of the fit or finish and question the durability
I didn't like the Trace pants at all. I also had the Guide Lite's and liked them but found them loud. I have the Ferrosi pants for like 6 years and they are extremely comfortable. They aren't brush busting tough but they're ok for that. I'd say they are more breathable and quiet than a Guide Lite.

I have some Black Ovis Cottonwood pants and shorts I really enjoy. Not around anymore though.

I didn't like the Sitka Equinox Guard at all, awful. Not breathable and the worst pocket/vent design ever crafted. The top is very nice though. They have a Guard LT pant that maybe is ok now.

Kuiu might have something you're interested. Kutana, Tiburon or Encounter LT.
