The wilderness ridge trail llama tents are awesome. Pretty spendy but that's what I rock for my truck set up. You can also rent them for pretty cheap so if you want to check it out before you commit thats a bonus. Plus you can see what size will work best. I have the smallest one I think its 9.5x9.5 or so and its pretty nice for two guys on smaller cots but if room is more important bump up a size.
No doubt those are awesome tents and I’m a big fan of Beau’s. Probably out of my budget though worth a look for sure. I hadn’t seen them before.

I’m in a similar boat, the Absaroka looks like a solid value compared to SO 4 person tent. If you have OnX Elite i think Argali has a 10% off with them. Also SO has a 15% code on their site but not sure if it works.

Absolutely. I have been watching those love the look and function of them but I am trying to get a more backpack style hot tent. I would like to stay around the 12 pound mark or lower. You are right though those tents are awesome.

Totally. I have a cimmarron for backpacking and the wilderness ridge for closer to the truck. Pretty sweet combo and good thing my wife doesn't know how much I have spent haha

The other thing I would say is go with a slightly larger stove. I have the seek medium and it's pretty dang small. You really don't gain any weight going with a larger stove and you get a much larger firebox. The medium is small enough that you really don't get a very long burn time but I'm also in central Oregon and it's mainly ponderosa pine that burns super fast and doesn't leave much in the way of coals.

I was gonna hold off listing it until spring but I see some interest here. I’ve got a redcliff and lite outdoors stove I plan on selling. Great shape on both. One stake hole in the sod skirt is the only flaw. Maybe 10 nights on the stove. If anybody is interested in more info send me a PM.
@brianmidmich this is perfect way to get into one for a cheaper than new price. If it's not what you want/like resell on here and outside of some shipping fees you won't be out much and at least you know you're getting quality tent with SO and you don't have deal with some non-existent customer service on a knock off Chinese set-up.

So I'm looking to get my first Hot Tent. I have seen reviews or been able to talk to someone that has used many of the top brands. Problem is many of those are out of my price range. I know you get what you pay for but there has to be something out there that a guy can get that's not going to break the bank. One company that I found I can't get anyone to respond back to me so having a hard time giving them my money if they can't give me some simple answers. Maybe someone here knows about them or has experience with them. The company is Onetigris and the tent I'm interested in is the Rock Fortress. Looks to be about perfect for what I would be using it for and the amount of people. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
I was in a similar situation of not wanting to break the bank to try out hot tent approach. A few years back I bought a SO LBO off the classifieds here. Bought an 18" Lite Outdoors cylinder stove. Setup was about $400-500. They both work great, however, I find myself leaving the stove behind most of the year due to hassle/weight. It's kind of a PITA to setup and I've found myself packing extra weight around the mtns for no reason. Also found myself less willing to move camp once I had it all setup.

I would recommend going the thrifty route because hot tents get a lot of hype on the internet, but they aren't for everybody. I'm finding myself "regressing" back to lighter weight shelters w/out the stove jack. I will say, hot tent can be beneficial in the right weather conditions and its nice to have a setup in my arsenal if needed.

I did a review this fall on hot tent from another company, Pomoly. Probably similar to what you would get with a Onetigris (I also stumbled across them and had the same questions as you). I certainly would say that for a couple hundred bucks, you would find out if hot tenting was for you. If need be, you could either try to resell one of these, or just burn it, and not break the bank.
