So I'm looking to get my first Hot Tent. I have seen reviews or been able to talk to someone that has used many of the top brands. Problem is many of those are out of my price range. I know you get what you pay for but there has to be something out there that a guy can get that's not going to break the bank. One company that I found I can't get anyone to respond back to me so having a hard time giving them my money if they can't give me some simple answers. Maybe someone here knows about them or has experience with them. The company is Onetigris and the tent I'm interested in is the Rock Fortress. Looks to be about perfect for what I would be using it for and the amount of people. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

I bought a rock fortress when I started researching hot tents. Planning and zoning (wife) wanted a cheap proof of concept before buying the seek outside tent I wanted.

So far it's held up great to multiple AK camping and hunting trips. Used it for almost two weeks last year on a moose trip. No complaints or issues so far.

So on their website it says it is 70D silicone coated Nylon, Amazon says it's 40D and I found on another site 30D. They are all roughly the same price and I cannot get anyone from there to answer a question.
I have my eye on the Seek Outside 6 person bundle. Not a huge fan of their stoves though, just from a design standpoint, I could be way off though too.

The Chinese stuff is ok. The onetigris tent I have experience with ripped like crazy and the rip
Stop didn’t stop.

I’m a seek guy, but the Chinese stuff can be ok.
My stove experience has been hiking fire, seek, and Tigoat for titanium and kni-co for heavier options.

What is your budget? I got a pitched once Nortent Koie 7 that not going to be using. I’d let it go for $700 and would include shipping

I really want the Seek but I want to make sure I like Hot Tenting first. So for a budget to start I'm going on the lower end because I need to pretty much upgrade everything from sleeping to backpack. Got a hunt the end of October so figured I could get little here and a little there. That is a great deal on that tent. Looks very similar to the one Seek has, except for the door/canopy thing.

I also have a seek 4 man tipi with liner and carbon pole. But it’s a 4 man. I should have bought a 6 man but figured since I own a 8 man, the 4 man would be nice. Haven’t even pitched it yet.

You will enjoy hot tenting. Save up and buy what you want. Seriously.

The material difference is significant.
Sounds good.
When you say significant, Seek is 40D and onetigris is supposedly 70D. Wouldn't that make Onetigris significantly better? Like I said I am very new to this. Before I would just take my 1.5 or 2 person bivi style tent and rough it through the night lol. So any info you can give I'm a sponge.

My experience with the two is that it isn’t even close. The onetigris just ripped and kept ripping.

I've been running hot tents for a while and all i can say is buy once cry once. You can usually find a good deal on used hot tent setups on here or other forums and resale is going to be about the same for what you paid for it if you don't like it. I'm a Seek Outside fan but there are other top brands i wouldn't bat an eye at.

I bought a seek redcliff and typically run it for 2 dudes all year. With the occasional 3rd partner. We take the stove at least 50% of the time. Depending on weather. When it’s warm we opt to leave it at home. I’ll never go without a hot tent again in my life.

My two buddies and I split on two different tents, one is a pomoly locomotive 3, I have a review on it here somewhere. If you search locomotive 3 it'll come up. It'd be ideal for two people, gear and a stove but three is tight and not much gear.

Link to "review"

We also have a fire hiking 8 man off amazon, for its price, seems pretty sturdy, haven't set up in a very windy location but it's easy to set up and an affordable way to get a mansion of a hot tent to try it out. It's like 10+ lbs packed though.

does it feel cramped with 3 people and a stove? Looking to get for my dad and I but occasionally plan on taking the two kids who are 7-9 years old.

The seek outside cimmarron is hard to beat. You do get crazy condensation if you pitch it tight to the ground and the stove goes out but once you light the stove everything is bone dry in a couple mins. Like others have said once you go the hot tent route you won't go back. I will bring the stove even if the temps aren't going to require it just to dry gear at the end of the day. It's the perfect size for two guys and gear with the stove and with one adult and two kids it should be just fine.

I’ve had a seek Cimarron and Argali Absaroka and much prefer the Argali fabric- doesn’t sag near as much when wet, but both are great. I sold the Cimarron and I’m looking for something bigger. Two guys, gear and a stove get cramped fast. I’m looking for a truck- base camp hot tent that can do cots.

I never know who's going to be with me so that's why I'm looking more at the red cliff or 6P tipi. That onetigris Rock Fortress looks sweet but I'm hearing that the rip stop doesn't stop rips so that kinda sucks.
6P would be a mansion for one but pretty comfortable for 3 or 4 I would imagine.

I was gonna hold off listing it until spring but I see some interest here. I’ve got a redcliff and lite outdoors stove I plan on selling. Great shape on both. One stake hole in the sod skirt is the only flaw. Maybe 10 nights on the stove. If anybody is interested in more info send me a PM.
