Hornady V-Match? ELD-VT

Just shot some of the 100gr 6.5 Grendel ammo from an 18" barrel. Average velocity of 2690 was quite impressive and a big improvement over the 123 eldm in terms of drop and drift.

Has anyone got their hands on these for their 223 ar’s? I’m interested in moving away from the 73 eldm because my barrel isn’t in love with them and I like the idea of a more frangible bullet for safer ground hog hunts on farms. I’m curious how they fit in mags. I want to pair them with 8028xbr without compressed loads.

They won’t work. Shortest you can go is around 2.38ā€. The bullet has a long nose similar to the 75eld

Those 62's are a long ass bullet for their weight I think they're right around 1.055 in length which is damn near as long as a 80gr ELD-M and don't forget you'll need a MUCH faster twist, I think Hornady is suggesting 8tw or faster, than you'd normally expect for a 62gr bullet.

I’m running an 8 twist proof barrel. But agree with them being too long for mag length. You’d be seated well into the case to get them short enough. It’s a shame, I like the concept of the hollow cavity behind the heat tip.
