I am wondering if anyone uses the .452" SST ML low drag bullets meant for use in a .50 cal w/sabot, in a .45 cal ML as a bullet to rifling load? I have some Fury 250 gr bullets that are .452" and are a snug fit in my CVA LR-X. They shoot pretty well. The SSTs would be quite a bit cheaper. IF they shoot well in my gun that is ...

Yes, lots of us have tried them. Mostly in custom rifles. Sometimes they shoot and sometimes they won’t. The difference in these vs a Fury (or another bullet made for sizing and shooting directly in the bore) is the lead softness and jacket thickness. The Furys are softer with a thinner jacket so they obturate better.

The other issue is that most button-rifled off the shelf muzzys doesn’t have to bore consistency to shoot sized bullets well. If they shoot well for you in your rifle then that’s a great thing!
