Saw this pop up on youtube. Flat meplats for drag variability reduction:

I can't tell if this is old and just being introduced now because of patent or what. It looks like my hornady bullets already have a flat tip..

Eleys done it. Different ball of wax but this stuff shoots pretty well.

Cutting Edge Bullets have a flat meplat, at least in the Lazer line and .308 & up.

The patent isn't on having a flat meplat, it's on the ratio of the meplat's diameter to the bullet diameter.
