Hornady CX?

What kind of speed were you getting with this load and the 120grain you mentioned?

Haven't had a chance to chrono it yet but Hodgdon lists it as 2944 fps with a 120gr ELD Match. From a 24 inch barrel.

Will let you know as soon asi get a chance to shoot it over a chronograph

Did you chrono the 140 or not that one either?

Tried these out of my 6.5prc from Bergara. Velocity was right about 3,000. Accuracy was non-existent. I am hesitate to make a blanket statement about the bullet itself but my rifle clearly hates them. I tried to get an entire box to build some type of group. Closed thing I had was maybe 10 MOA at 100.

I checked action screws, scope rings, base , and scope to verify it wasnt me. Tried a group of Norma and shot .5 moa.

Crazy extreme spreads or standard deviations? Hate to hear the trouble with the projectile. I've had great terminal performance with it so far. I landed an elk tag this year so maybe I'll get the opportunity to see how it does on elk.

Honestly, I didn't even spend much time checking that. I was chasing my tail the entire time. It would shoot 6 inches left, then center, then high right, then low right etc. I've personally never had performance like that with anything from Hornady so I spent most of my time checking to see if everything was torqued correctly on the gun.

After doing a bit of research, my best guess is that my barrel was already fouled to the point that the copper couldn't foul the way it wanted. Which is apparently a risk when you switch from lead to copper.

Ill revisit the CX or LRX next spring. At this point, I'm setting it up for ELDX for African game and ELDM for whitetail.

I understand. I hear that a lot about swapping between mono's and cup and core bullets but I've shot both in the same range trip doing load work up and never had that problem. I wonder if that's rifle specific. Some do and some don't. I've personally not taken any game with the ELD-X but I'm going to work up an ELD-X load for my 6mm Creedmoor for whitetail this year to see how they do.

I'll report back on how my dad does with them in Africa via a DM.
