Would be handy if anyone that had the bullets also had the ramrod tip.

Good point. I have Accura LR-X with collapsing carbon fiber ramrod and tip is not interchangeable. But I called Accura and they said it should work even with longer pointy .50cal bullets. (Thinking their own ELRs ). And it does look like my tip has a very deep cavity to accommodate longer tipped bullets. Ill try once
I get my order

A buddy got two packs off ML.com. Came out within a dollar or two of Midway after tax and shipping despite costing a little more per pack. I imagine those will be sold out pretty quickly as well.

I just got some in and here is first two shot group at 50. I’m still dialing in my peep. Really like how they fit the barrel on Knight Disc Elite and will be shooting more this weekend

Some range data. I shot a half dozen this afternoon. Loading was easy. They felt like the bases were engaging the rifling well. Took some velocity measurements with a Magnetospeed and caught a couple in water jugs at 25 yards. The tips seem to be shattering. Never could locate any of the bases so I’m not sure what they are doing. Advertised BC of .315 (G1) on these.

Omega X7 .50 (w Woodman adjustable 209 plug)
80 and 120 grV BH209 (lot 41)
Fed209a

80 grV BH209 (1624 fps)

3 water jugs penetrated. Several fragments found in 2nd jug, core and separated jacket in 3rd jug. Weight of fragments recovered 195.8 gr.

120 grV BH209 (2030 fps ave)

Shot 1: 4 jugs penetrated. Many small frags located in 3rd and 4th jugs. Core was unrecovered. Recovered fragments weighed 51.2 gr.

Shot 2: 3 jugs penetrated. Recovered core weighed 192.8 gr.

The second shot with 120 grV produced a pretty nice mushroom. But the thin jacket (~ .015) and soft lead makes them pretty frangible at higher speeds. These are made to be longer range bullets so that is to be expected. So far I’d say they’ll make good deer bullets. Need to shoot a few more of them.

Some calculated trajectory data.

Great report. Thanks for posting your results ElDiablito.
I was expecting more with the hype and build up from Hornady. I will be staying away from these. Looks like they perform no different than a Powerbelt.

This is very helpful! With 100 grains by volume of Blackhorn I was at 1733 FPS but need to test more.

Shot a few of these at 50 yards this am. Omega .50 X7 with Woodmans adjustable breech plug, 110grV BH209, Cheddite 209.

Velocity was 2020 fps.

Not terrible but it may get better with some charge tweaking.

Interesting you couldn't find any of the bases, as they're supposed to stick with the bullet per CO regs that they made these for. Hopefully they look at the "intent" of the design if they fall off consistently. I got some in yesterday and they do seem to pop off without much effort...
