Hornady 3 in 1 trimmer

Well thought out?!! LoL Thats because they ripped off a well made AMERICAN product... Henderson Trimmer and whipped out a chinaized version, even used the same color. Henderson is hands down the best trimmer out there!
No they didn’t. Their design is very different from the Henderson. Motor is directly connected, not offset so not belt needed. The adjustment method is totally different and they fixed the one lacking feature from the Henderson by giving a micro adjust length option that is sorely lacking with the Henderson.

I’m no Hornady fan, but at first glance, they built a better product by correcting some of the shortfalls of the Henderson.

I have a Henderson and won’t be getting rid of it but I ain’t mad at Hornady for fixing some issues with the Henderson design.

Actually the Hornady one is manufactured in the US minus the motor. They didn't use a US manufacturer for the motor because none of them offered a high enough RPMs. It also has some very distinct differences from the Henderson and of course it's red IT"S HORNADY. Lol

Now that it's been out for a while any feedback one way or another? Trying to decide between this and a Giraud (Henderson out of the budget)

Just an FYI, Doug Giraud passed away in July. Last I saw they intended to stay in business but expected some delays until things got sorted.

For the price I can't see paying that money for the Henderson with full setup. The case holder is bit finicky for me - I always have to bump the mouth up to the mandrel first to align it, then ram it home.

If you're neck-turning brass and sorting by weight, etc. then maybe spring for the more expensive setups. This was works fantastic for me so far.

Just got mine last night and can't set it up currently. The trimmer head seems to have burrs of some sort near the center of the bore preventing the cutters from sliding in properly. In the attached picture you can see that if I insert the cutters, they don't drop in all the way and aren't sitting flat. Going to try sanding in there a bit to remove it, but I have been doing that for a good 15 minutes already without much progress.

Not super happy for the money it cost.

I took a small screwdriver/ hammer gave mine a whack to get seated when new. Tight fit

I did a light sanding on it with a credit card wrapped in 220 grit sandpaper and have them going in and out without a ton of resistance now, so a total of 45 mins or so sanding has gotten it operational.
