Got tired of $60 covers. Bought Kevlar heat wrap off eBay, wrapped it twice, laced it with 550 cord.
Ran 30 rounds in 85°F weather — no melt, no shift. Weighed 2.7 oz. Cost me $8. Doesn’t look pretty but works perfectly.
If anyone wants pics or dimensions, I can post a quick guide.

Silicone tape, or kitchen/bath mat cut to wrap, and then vet tape or camo form over it are the best value option. The vet tape can melt a little and shrink back when it gets really hot. Mine has stayed in place over a year with frequent trips to the range and use in the field while hunting.

The vet tape option is cheaper and less fiddly than kevlar strapping tied.off with cord. This would come unraveled on me and have to redo it occasionally.
