Curious of anyone has more input. I recently bought a .300 Win Mag (9lb 6oz all set up, no brake) I generally don’t hold onto the forend when shooting centerfire rifles. I decided to try it with the .300 to see if it helps with accuracy and recoil control. After almost 200 rounds, I can say for a fact that I shoot this rifle (actually, all rifles) better when I don’t hold the forend. Even though I get a sharp barrel rise, my groups are almost cut in half when not holding onto the forend.
