Super legit! Those cutters look bigger than the boars I shot.

Yeah this is the level I’m trying to get on that public just doesn’t provide yet. Honestly would be fine with 2-3 a year to stock the freezer. You’re hunting private property, right? Farmland in Turlock? Stoked on the photos, thanks man.

When I was getting started, I would hunt public. Now I haven't hunted public in 10 years or more. I will hunt anywhere I can get in.

Been hunting them for about 36 years or so now on the spouse's family place in Texas.
No shortage and they are fun to hunt and great eating.

I've found they tend to ball up and lay around in the colder weather in Texas, they don't like the bitter cold. Have taken tons mid day too, they aren't all nocturnal when hot outside. We hit the ponds and wallows they make, river too.
Draws seem to hold them also, during the day, for spot and stalk hunting.
Thermals and led flashlights at night are fun.

No cutters anywhere close to those big ones posted. Most get broken off about 2 inches or so.

I’m considering paying the $700 to stay with an outfit I’ve heard about. That 700 covers accommodations and as many pigs as I want, good deal and I’d get to road trip to Texas which I’ve wanted to do.

Public is not impossible. But hogs on public get spooked easily and will go nocturnal when screwed with a lot. If you’re after table fare steer clear of big ol smelly boars, most of them taste like crap and are about as tender as leather. I know some will claim that they eat just fine but I’m not a fan of them by no means. Half of my success with hogs has been ambush setups catching them moving from bedding to feeding areas. The other half is made up of spot and stalk and just plain old luck running into them unexpectedly. One of my favorite things to hunt by far but good grief are they outrageously expensive to pay for a guide or trespass fee these days.

Love chasing pigs in the off season and try to get out to a ranch we have access to in Paso 1-2x a year. Headed back in a couple weeks and taking the wife, gonna do half hunt/half wine. @Hoghead if I think back to what got me into hunting it was owning an American bulldog and reading about the hunts with dogs, sounds all time. Hope to have that adrenaline dump at least 1x in my life.

If you want to hunt behind dogs, I'll bring them to your ranch if you want. I have a half American bulldog half Catahoula in my pack. They are great dogs.I think pass is 2.5 to 3 hours away frome me. Give me some notice, and I can make it work.

I’ll ask the landowner and see if he is open to it, appreciate the offer. Did I see a GSP in your pack or was that catahoula?
