I really enjoy my new Meopta Meostar Hds. I wasn't too pleased with the case. It fits the binoculars snug without excessive padding, but no belt strap, or anything really of note.

I have been using a harness style strap for hunting and recently have tried the S4 lockdown. I like the concept of not fighting the elastic strap when glassing. It just seems like the binoculars on my chest are in the way.

I saw a few archers using a long strap and carrying the binoculars around the neck and under one arm. This is very comfortable for archery, but for hunting I was concerned about the binoculars moving around. My solution was to find a snug fitting case that would fit on my belt and use the long neck strap. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369709730.193201.jpg

I started with some iron on Velcro. I mounted the hook side on the inside of the flap. I mounted the soft side on the back. This allows me to fold back the cover and hold it open to allow easy access to the binoculars. I then sewed a couple pieces of webbing to make belt loops. The stock neck strap for the Meostars is very long and works well for this setup.

I made another one with a Voodoo Tactical binocular case. These are very well made, heavy cordura fabric. This had a internal sock like material that had a draw string around the top of the binoculars. I cut this out.

I only had to iron on a single piece of the soft side of Velcro just above the belt loop. This is again to fold back the top to allow easy access to the binoculars. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369710294.608379.jpg
