Hilleberg Nallo 2 Minimal Weight

Can anyone tell me how light the Nallo 2 is just running the outer tent? Thanks.

I can tell you my Hilleberg Jannu saves almost exactly 2 pounds on the nose just running the pole and fly. I would believe the inner tent on the Nallo inner tent should weigh close to the same two pounds. Will be hammering out an article on the Jannu hopefully in the next couple months outlining the tent as a whole as well as weight savings and space increases inside the shelter when running as a floorless tent that is still just as bomber.

Does the Jannu go all the way to the ground, thus eliminating any water being blown up and into the tent? I can't remember.

I'll try to weigh my nallo 2 and get back to you on that. It's an awesome tent. Definitely weighs more all in than the ultralight stuff but you feel like you're in a solid house when that thing is pitched. I've certainly not put it to the same extreme tests that Luke most likely has with his hille, but it's been pretty bomb proof for me. Quality in those hillebergs is hard to match but definitely not the lightest. I use it situationally when I feel I need it.

Yes!! Only the new Ajan and whatever the freestanding model that came out at the same time but forget the name doesn't go flush with the ground. But honestly not quite flush to the ground would be preferred in my experience. Single wall shelters need to breath and thus a little gap for air circulation is a good thing.

I'm just kicking around the idea of a more open floor setup then the DuoMid. I know I won't get it as light as the DuoMid, but the open floor and tunnel designs work extremely well in the winds. I have a Stephenson Warmlite that I've pondered cutting the floor out of, but cannot bring myself to to it. Thanks for the info WestDan when you get it, I appreciate it.

By taking the inner tent of my nallo 3 out it saves exactly 2lbs. I took it on a solo sheep hunt this year and that thing was a 3lb 10oz 4 season palace.

Nice mountain climber!! That's nearly exactly what the Jannu inner tent weighs as well. I have pics kinda highlighting space with and without the inner tent as well as all weights and such. Going without the inner tent on the Hilleberg really makes it still the fortress it always is but saves some weight and gives you some more usable space. Just makes your Spendy shelter a bit more versatile.

Haven't had it in extreme wind, but some constant 25 MPH stuff with gusts a bit higher (measured on my Kestrel) and it faired fine. Its a great shelter for sure, especially since my wife sewed at stove jack in it. Bummer they don't make it anymore.

Thanks i had a stove jack put in mine as well.Just gathering some funds for a stove.Plan to use it on an alpine caribou hunt.Cheers
