Here I thought Ryan Lamper was one of the good guys for the hunting world…

Our criminal justice system is based off deterrence. Anyone who makes money off fish and game violations should be punished more harshly order to ensure that future offenders are deterred from violating the same laws in the name of sponsorship dollars and views. It takes a lot less to make someone who's only in it for the meat/euro mount to reconsider their choices than it does for someone whose livelihood depends on killing trophy animals for content.
I get that but at the same time most everyone here is saying…the law is the law, doesn’t matter if it’s 5 minutes out of season or 5 months, etc.

Well, if the law is the law than shouldn’t it apply equally to everyone?

I get, and happen to agree personally with making an example, but the equal application of the law seems lacking in this country.

BTW, if we punished everyone regardless if they were an influencer or not, it would be a stronger deterrent than punishing one person harshly.

Could you also clarify how unjustly he should be treated? Specifics would help.

I think everyone should cross their t and dot their i and be honest.

My problem is with weaponizing our GOVT to unjustly treat citizens.
How is enforcing max penalty (if convicted) weaponization of the Idaho state government? I don't think anyone is suggesting going beyond the state set penalties for these charges, that would not be legal.

It is not.
You are the only one presenting that argument.

They have disagreed with me calling for justice. Unjust treatment by the state should not be tolerated. PERIOD.

Then I am confused by your previous post, you brought up weaponization of government. The most extreme view I've seen in this thread is people asking for max punishment for alleged crimes.

this might explain all the beef ribeye he's been eating lately. he was on the s2h podcast talking about all the freezers full of venison yet he was mostly eating beef. Idaho may have his venison.
it warms my heart hearing of these nut sacks in trouble and i'm entertained by the nut lovers defending them!

Yea but, what’s Gritty say?

Anyways, kind of interesting he’s charged with killing a mule deer and the lead off photo is a nice buck that is “unrelated”. Seems there’s an effort to sway the reader a little bit.

If he’s guilty he needs to feel it, gonna suck for the business model.
Gritty is probably hiding he's already been busted once and I would bet anything he knew what was going on and/or also doing it too. Probably praying 24/7 Lampers doesn't sell him out to lessen his punishment

Got it. It may just be definitional or a misunderstanding then.

When I hear people advocating for the GOVT to make examples out of people that skews into weaponization territory, at least in my book.

Sentencing someone who VERY WELL should know better with the max punishment would not constitute that.

I see now, I guess I see max punishment for game violations as making an example out of someone because it seems no matter what the game violation is, the max punishment never seems to get issued.

Weird, the guy always shooting and posting pics isn't a better hunter than everyone, he's just doing it illegally and thinking he wouldn't get caught??? Who's gonna be the next one?
Maybe Mr. Lampers starts to sing like song bird? Is it too early to say he didn’t kill himself?

Come to Arizona and violate our game laws then see how our commission treats you ;) You will not like it and you won’t be back, or at least you won’t be back hunting here or any of the participating violator compact states. The commission practices near 100% zero tolerance. Very very rarely does someone get off or get off lightly.

And places like Black Ovis carry his products and have ignored numerous folks who have asked about why the are carrying products from a convicted poacher, the latter tips the scale on the easy decision for my to boycott Black Ovis while they do business with a poacher and try to ignore it.

Edit: Damn that dude weaseled into sportsmans warehouse and midwayusa now too.
Damn is right. i picked up a vandal x from horizon firearms a few weeks back. later i discover horizon firearms and stiller action offer a special edition muley freak wombat action.
