Respectfully, I would counter that he should be treated justly. Our GOVT should not be making examples out of people.

How do you guys find fake facebook accounts and his house?!?!
I disagree. When youre in a position to be able to make a influence over folks, or have the spot light more on you vs a regular Joe blow, you should also realize you better be crossing your t's and being honest.
With how some folks are trying to argue the justification or why he shouldn't be that severely punished. I presume you think the same way with L/E, politicians, teachers?
I get what you’re saying about being severely punished because of his status. But, he shouldn’t be punished any more/less harsh than regular Joe Blow poacher committing those same offenses (allegedly).I disagree. This thread blew up faster than a wildfire in the last hour. And I think im going to have to agree with @Jason Snyder and leave it alone.
These are the threads where I make great personal notes to not ever hunt with some folks. I'd never want to hunt with someone who doesnt have the same respect to law as I do. Or who won't hold themselves or myself accountable.
'OH everyone does it' 'no one will know about it'.
It is to common on this forum for me or someone else to step into a one sided conversation, provide a reasonable counter argument and then receive personal attacks. I'm happy to meet you on this battlefield of your choosing. I'm dissapointed in and thoroughly tired of some of you playing the victim when I do.People bringing “nuance” usually don’t feel the need to post 900 posts on multiple threads involving this case - and they also don’t usually get emotional enough about the topic to throw snotty remarks at everyone who calls them out for it….
When it comes to the sentence handed out it most certainly does.Does not matter if is 10 minutes or 10 weeks out of season.. Dates and times are clearly defined.
Brother, I see you're unfamiliar with our justice system. This does happen far to often.I'm well aware, that's why he's being charged. If there was zero evidence that the deer had been killed in 21 he wouldn't be charged with that crime.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I don't think every infraction is deserving of a lifetime ban. I simply think the punishment should fit the crime.Well considering you think people who don't return shopping carts to the corrals deserve the electric chair, I'm curious to hear what punishment you think is befitting of a poacher.
Thank you, i didn't see that it was 2+ months out. That's obviously worse than a few days and deserving of a greater punishment if convicted. I'm still not sure it arises to the level of a lifetime ban, but maybe I'm wrong?I'm not attacking anybody, I posted the dates for everyone to see.
This deer was allegedly killed 2+ months after the season had closed.
No sir, I've never been to Idaho and I'm not intimately familiar with the difference in its units. It wasn't an "accident". based off your responses I am assuming you have never been to this section of Idaho, but it impossible to start hunting in either of the units and stumble into the other. set aside the amount of technology available, and this " seasoned" hunter shouldn't need it anyway, there is a full on river and highway separating the two units. 21 is north, 28 is south.
Is that what he's accused of here? Did he get an OTC tag and use it to take a trophy animal in an exclusive limited unit?Let's say in Montana, just because you have a general tag, doesnt mean you should be able to go into 380 and shoot a boone and Crockett caliber animal.. that's poaching. And like most people saying on here.. shouldn't be a slap on the wrist. Its time to make examples out of these guys. (If found guilty)
I'm not going to tell others what to do, but this is the conclusion I came to a few years ago for myself. This will probably hurt some feelings but those of you reading this thread that consume YouTube content are part of the problem.
You stalking me again?!?! Didn’t the judge tell you to stop that!!I could tell you where you are right now.
Our criminal justice system is based off deterrence. Anyone who makes money off fish and game violations should be punished more harshly order to ensure that future offenders are deterred from violating the same laws in the name of sponsorship dollars and views. It takes a lot less to make someone who's only in it for the meat/euro mount to reconsider their choices than it does for someone whose livelihood depends on killing trophy animals for content.I get what you’re saying about being severely punished because of his status. But, he shouldn’t be punished any more/less harsh than regular Joe Blow poacher committing those same offenses (allegedly).
Turn it around and regular Joe committing those same offenses would say why am I being sentenced so harshly, I’m not a hunting influencer.
Trust the system that hopefully he gets the appropriate justice if he truly did what he’s being accused of.

I believe there's a difference in holding someone in a particular position to a higher standard versus making an example of them. It's not a drastic difference, but i think there is one.I disagree. I like your logic. I have a mediocre deer tag in Az. How much fine would I deserve if I go to the strip instead?Do I understand this correctly, he had tags for the game within the state. However, he killed them in a different unit than the tag was issued?
If this is correct, those calling for a lifetime ban deserves every bad thing that ever happens to you. This is a crime deserving of a stiff fine at worst. What am I missing?
I disagree.
Influencers are supposed to be professionals of the sport to young people.
All they teach now is poaching
I disagree.

“Sheesh, must be a divorce” - me seeing the same guy post 5k worth of gear on marketplace the last few weeks here in mt. Didn’t put the dots together until I heard where he lives.Weird he would make a burner Facebook account to sell all of his hunting gear as fast as he could…
