Unit 28 has it. Which is where he said he shot the buck, but wardens have him pinned shooting in 21. Allegedly.

Does not matter if is 10 minutes or 10 weeks out of season.. Dates and times are clearly defined. So it's exactly what I summarized it to be plus the out of season kill you've pointed out. Assuming it wasn't grossly out of season, I don't see how this rises to the level of a lifetime ban???
That's patently incorrect. That's why the judge is given a range of punishments that they can enforce. In a court of law, yes.
What is your problem? Why are you attacking the guy for what was most likely an honest mistake (assuming you're correct here)? Why can you not just provide the dates and help him better understand why he got it wrong.
I simply think there is a difference in shooting an animal 48hrs outside of season and 6 months out of season. Why am I wrong to think that?Care to elaborate? I don't understand your opinion on the dates.
I'm well aware, that's why he's being charged. If there was zero evidence that the deer had been killed in 21 he wouldn't be charged with that crime.Unit 28 has it. Which is where he said he shot the buck, but wardens have him pinned shooting in 21. Allegedly.
Well considering you think people who don't return shopping carts to the corrals deserve the electric chair, I'm curious to hear what punishment you think is befitting of a poacher.I agree! I hope he gets what he actually deserves and nothing more. I also hope the Stukachi get what they deserve in this life or the next.
I'm not attacking anybody, I posted the dates for everyone to see. What is your problem? Why are you attacking the guy for what was most likely an honest mistake (assuming you're correct here)? Why can you not just provide the dates and help him better understand why he got it wrong.
This deer was allegedly killed 2+ months after the season had closed.I simply think there is a difference in shooting an animal 48hrs outside of season and 6 months out of season. Why am I wrong to think that?
I recognize that established seasons are important. I also recognize that the exact day it starts and stops is a bit arbitrary.
How so? ." It's only a little bit closed, I think it will be ok". Seems a bit..... off.I'd argue that yes it does.
That’s the jist of it right? Robby is very likely in it for himself and his own drive to hunt and be successful. These influencers and outfitters are not. They have succumbed to their egos desires and the pressure of having to succeed and most importantly to woo dollars out of the system.Maybe I should start a new thread for this but I'll just ask. For those of us that follow/see influencer types, do you need them to get a big animal every year, or is it enough to know they are a good hunter and some years you just don't get anything?
I don't need to see Robby shoot a 200" buck every year to still believe he's a great mule deer hunter and knows what he's doing.
Unit 28 was, Unit 21 where they allege he shot the deer wasn't.It was open to late archery though. Just pointing that out.
Brother, I am honestly at a loss for words with your takes on this subject., and I am starting to think your actuating trolling this subject now. This isn't a 12 year old catching a crappie with live bait in an artificial lure only pond. This isn't a teaching moment due to youth or an accident.I'd argue that yes it does.
I apologize if me trying to bring nuance to this discussion has offended and exceeded your intellectual capacity for critical thinking.
All criminal actions are not deserving of the maximum punishment. I don't understand how that's controversial.
Let's say in Montana, just because you have a general tag, doesnt mean you should be able to go into 380 and shoot a boone and Crockett caliber animal.. that's poaching. And like most people saying on here.. shouldn't be a slap on the wrist. Its time to make examples out of these guys. (If found guilty)Do I understand this correctly, he had tags for the game within the state. However, he killed them in a different unit than the tag was issued?
If this is correct, those calling for a lifetime ban deserves every bad thing that ever happens to you. This is a crime deserving of a stiff fine at worst. What am I missing?
I'm well aware, that's why he's being charged. If there was zero evidence that the deer had been killed in 21 he wouldn't be charged with that crime.

Agreed. I've been in both units and its impossible to mistake one for the other.Correct. I think we are agreeing and know the regs here. He might have been hunting with a bow during an open archery season and shot the buck in the wrong unit. And willfully is my guess, because that little crick called the Salmon.
I disagree. When youre in a position to be able to make a influence over folks, or have the spot light more on you vs a regular Joe blow, you should also realize you better be crossing your t's and being honest.Respectfully, I would counter that he should be treated justly. Our GOVT should not be making examples out of people.
