Here I thought Ryan Lamper was one of the good guys for the hunting world…

If there weren’t victims would there be crimes? No girls no rapists? You don’t like the impact of content creators on the hunting experience, I get that and might be of the same mind if I were I’m the mountain west. All good, we probably completely agree on the other 99% of issues🙂

No doubt. I really used to enjoy Newberg’s do it yourself shtick until he let it slip (divulged/came clean - take your pick) that a state game and fish teamed up with the tourism board to give him a tag(s) the rest of us aren’t likely to ever draw. I still think he’s a good guy…….
How low a bar can we set ?
A good guy would have been up front with his audience to start with.

Not uncommon, guys start off producing good diy content and then join the cool kids group and it goes downhill from there.

Remember where he said this?

These wannabe hunting / shooting/ firearms self proclaimed internet experts/influencers are not good for our sport. Almost all of them are one trick ponies and only knowledgeable on one maybe two subjects. But they pontificate as experts on everything hunting/shooting and gun related. They are 💯% self serving. They don’t care about us sportsman and only look at us as $$ signs. Their egos are large to begin with, most are of minimum intelligence, they start to believe their own B.S. . This is when their egos get even larger and they get themselves in legal troubles , crossing ethical lines to feed their egos and monetize the wildlife that they poach. The shooting/hunting/gun influencers are cancer to our sport. I consider the internet influencers parasites . Anyone who poaches, not for food, but trophy animals needs to be locked up for awhile and loose all hunting/ gun/outdoor privileges. A second offense should cause a lifetime ban.

100%

People who are good at only one thing in life are a joke.

Seems everyone who jumps on the YouTube bandwagon are doing so primarily for $$$$
Not that they don’t love what they’re doing but want to monetize it
That aspect often seems to prevail

Do I understand this correctly, he had tags for the game within the state. However, he killed them in a different unit than the tag was issued?
If this is correct, those calling for a lifetime ban deserves every bad thing that ever happens to you. This is a crime deserving of a stiff fine at worst. What am I missing?

Everybody on here obeys the law to the letter of the T huh ?

No rolling stops thru stop signs ?

Turning right on red without stopping?

Going 1 MPH above the speed limit?

No shooting before first light or shooting after last light?

Breaking the law is breaking the law NO matter what the law is or what it is about.

Makes me sick that this guy allegedly broke the law(s) but even more sick that it allegedly involved animals we admire, appreciate, respect, and have dwindling numbers.

Saying he got “ratted out” carries a negative connotation. I’m glad someone turns him in. I’d turn him in without thinking twice if he was my hunting partner.
You're exactly the type of man that I'm teaching my sons that it's unacceptable to be and that they should outright avoid. Turning in your hunting buddy to the state? That's despicable and far worse than anything this guy is being accused of doing.

Semper Fi!

Lampers is charged with the following counts:

  • Grand Theft by Deception (Felony): Allegedly obtained $2,000 from F4WM by falsely claiming a wolf was killed in a higher-paying reimbursement unit.
  • Unlawful Possession of Mule Deer Buck (Felony): Allegedly possessed a mule deer taken unlawfully, later scored at 175 4/9 inches under Boone and Crockett standards, qualifying as a trophy.
  • Taking Trophy Big Game During Closed Season (Misdemeanor): Allegedly shot a mule deer buck during a closed season in Lemhi County.
  • Hunting Without Valid Tag (Misdemeanor): Allegedly hunted and killed the mule deer without a valid tag for the unit.
  • Hunting Without Valid Tag (Misdemeanor): Allegedly killed a mountain lion in BGMU 21 without a valid tag for that unit.
  • Possession/Transportation of Game Taken Unlawfully (Misdemeanor): Allegedly possessed or transported the unlawfully taken mountain lion.
  • Falsifying Public Records (Misdemeanor): Allegedly falsified an Idaho Fish and Game Big Game Mortality Report for the mountain lion.
  • Falsifying Public Records (Misdemeanor): Allegedly falsified a mortality report for the wolf kill.

I'd say a little more than just killing an animal in the wrong unit.

I'm not asking for the statist lawyer mumbo jumbo. This is simply everything they can pile on. What did he actually do, what actions is he being prosecuted for? Did I miss anything in my previous post?

Maybe teach your sons to not associate with criminals and they’ll never be put in that situation.
