herd size

I drove at first light from Breckenridge down through FairPlay then to Cañon City.

Saw zero elk in any field, meadow or edge of timber.

No like it was 15 - 20 years ago where you would see numerous small herds munching alfalfa in the farmers fields.

The herd was there last sunday, right outside Fairplay as usual, herd size was... sizeable, ive seen bigger there for sure but they are around there somewhere.
They were laying in the field as i passed through at first light and were standing feeding when i passed back through around 4pm, hadnt decided it was worth moving all day apparently
