Going on a Sept archery hunt in Colorado this year and need some opinions on clothing. I live in Missouri and do a fair amount of bow hunting here so I'm looking for a layering system that might work for both locations.

What is your opinions on brands, I don't want anything real bulky and need to be able to hunt in temps from 60 degrees down to 20 degrees. I'm after quality that truly is worth the money rather than cheap. Right now I'm leaning toward Cabelas brand or Sitka brands. What do you think?

thanks for the help.

Lots of great option that will work for you. I prefer a light merino wool shirt as my base. Then maybe fleece, and over top some type of coat that will cut wind.
Sitka, Kuiu, First Lite, Kryptek, Badlands, Cabelas all have they stuff you need, and with good quality.

Wick layer
Warm layer
Wind and Water layer

Add or remove as necessary to maintain body temperature.

Id rather forget my rifle than my First Lite Chama Hoody. I’ll be adding a merino t shirt this year.

My “set up”

Upper:
Merino T-shirt (new addition)
Chama Hoody
Fleece (have quite a few, Cabela’s Berber is nice)
Packable puffy
UA rain coat

Merino leggings
FIrst Lite Merino pants or MH Piero
Mountain Hardwear Fleece lined Yumilino. (One size bigger than normal and added suspenders)
UA Rain pants.

Merino socks of course.

If I can’t do it in all that, I’m not going....

Did the same hunt this year and essentially used most of my early-season Midwest whitetail clothing.

I used to be runner, so my base layer is a spandex/poly long sleeve. Mid layer fleece and outer layer UA quiet camo zip up. I added a Kryptek Vellus vest for colder mornings. Cabelas Space Rain in the pack. Puffy jacket got left in the truck for nights at camp.

Pants were solid color Wrangler sport pants from Walmart (left the Realtree camo at home). Well worth the $25 I paid.

Good socks with liners. Solid boots. Fleece beanie and gloves along with favorite baseball hat.

Haven’t tried Wooltimate. I bought the Berber used and cheap. Haven’t been cold so didn’t see a need to try anything else.

For 90% of our archery season I'll wear lightweight merino base top and bottom, Cabela's Microtex Lite button up shirt and pants (the old stuff.....really thin and lightweight), and my microfleece mock T. Then poly liner socks, merino boot socks, and good boots make up the rest of my ensemble. That covers 90% of my season. The other 10% I might add a rain jacket and a heavier fleece jacket.........and only rarely add in my down puffy in my pack.

Keep an eye on camofire for Black Ovis merino wool. I went to Eddie Bauer Guide Pants/Wrangler pants from Walmart. They worked great out west this year and in MO for white tails. My rain gear is Cabela’s Space Rain and I never used it this year.

FL fuse top and bottom, kuiu peleton 97 zip off bottom , peleton zip t or klamath, either FL obsidian or Kuiu guide pants( depends on weather) kuiu peleton 240, kuiu guide jacket, Berber full set. Kuiu guide vest. These items would get you through a whole season from warmer temps down tonwell below freezing. Add some proper head and hand wear and mobile warming socks and you are golden
