Help with backpack elk hunt.

I would like to introduce myself... My name is Ryan. I am 37 years old. I own a big game offshore fishing guide service in Louisiana called Reel Addiction Charters. I am Looking to make a backpack archery elk or mule deer hunt. Being from Louisiana my problem is finding an experienced group of friends to tag along with. I have top notched gear, I am an experienced hunter, Eagle Scout, and I have backpacked before for 10 days in New Mexico.

I know there is much to learn about a backpack hunt so I am needing advice of how to go about finding a guide or a group to tag along with. I will also be up for trading an offshore trip for an elk hunt if someone is interested. I'm looking for a challenging hunt.

They got fish down there big enough to eat a mule deer...Welcome Ryan! I lived in Louisiana for a few years...long way to the hills from New Orleans, although the ones up around St Francisville oughtta give you plenty of room to train! I live in AR now, so I share your pain for the mountains.
