Has anyone ditched a spotter and tripod when the put a stalk on and then come back later to get? There has been zero other hunters and I'm sure I could hide in a rock
I left my binoculars on the ground in NM overnight once. Was sleeping under a tarp and they were within 5’ of me. Woke up the next morning and discovered some rodent had chewed a portion of the protective coating off. Around the eyepiece and body. Kind of a PITA to send in and have them “fixed”. Something to consider!

I would be very surprised if that deer didn’t gross over 180. Good luck and he’s a great buck, regardless of score.

Quick simple update without spending hours on my phone. He was there on Thursday and I'm pretty sure i missed the shot, new gun and i think i jerked the trigger. Pretty discouraged. Also ran into the gentleman who bought the outfitter tag for this hunt, and so that adds some more pressure to finding the buck and getting close before he does.

Decided to come home on weekend so i can be with my family for a recharge. 5 days in a row is apparently too hard for my physical and mental state. Hopefully it will also give does opportunity to calm down and all come back to the area. Also if im only there on weekdays i hope it wont attract as much attention to the area like it would on weekends.

If I seen him it would be game on.

Sorry about the miss and stress from 5 days of hunting. Some 40 years ago we used to hunt w a guy who couldn't hunt a full week for whatever reason.

A week or two of just hunting is so relaxing to me. Yeah, can get frustrating but it sure recharges my batteries. Always hate to leave. Think the trick is to see it as a vacation...

Forget the other guy and just hunt. Hope you get a good one.

I agree hunting is a big vacation for me that ive been looking forward to. I also really enjoy time with my wife and kids so i figured id come home for a bit when the weather isn't ideal. The other guy has actually been super respectful thus far.

I'm switching back to my bolt gun that I'm far more comfortable with. Just need to check zero with suppressor on before i go back up.

Obsess And hunt hard for A few days, then take a day off and putz around camp. Get up late, eat a big Breakfast, linger over your second cup of coffee. Smoke a doobie if that’s legal in your state. Remember this is about fun and making memories and acquiring stories for the campfire. If you make it all about antlers and or meat then you’re missing the point.

Hunt your ass off while you can. Scouting trips are for fun and camping, open season is time for killing. Take a day if you need it. Good luck, we're rooting for you. Your mind is the enemy and the answer, kill that son of a bitch!! He's a pisser!
