Have one in 300 saum, so have more options for “bigger” rounds. Like the 300, but would consider charging it to 325 wsm. Go from a hammer to a sledgehammer.

My favorite model 7 is in 350 rem mag but I’d stay 260 for you. Your thinking of spending a lot of money for min gain. Take that money and buy a new gun in what you want.

I'd look for a take off factory 700 mountain rifle barrel in 7-08 or 308 let what you find decide for you.
