Help LS Wild design the new stock!

In regards to the Sauer 100, that model has been discontinued by Sauer. So, the market for a stock is super small. However, if enough of you request it to make it worth while…maybe…
You're the perfect guy for this job.

I'd just tell the Browning, Kimber, Sauer and R8 guys that it's never gonna happen and they would complain to Lobo and get me fired.

"He called my rifle the Honda Element of the shooting world..."

My 2 cents. Keep it simple, two skews of the final design, Tikka- RH & LH. Sell them sanded ready to finish.
I will only apply linseed oil liberally and re apply as necessary. My rifles are a tool and I could care less if they get scratched and dented.

Sounds like a group buy type situation once yall get the tikka delivered and demand settles. I'm willing to bet a significant number of folks with Sauer 100's who would want that type of stock are here.

...there is a certain...feel of shooting a wood stock....

There is a feel with wood in hand and in recoil transfer.

I made mention of the Echo earlier. I'm ok with it's ergo's for fit, it's not perfect but a flat toe and negative comb would really make it good on ergo's. I shoot it well enough as is, however, when shooting it's almost a vibratory transfer of the recoil impulse. I think it's the plastic and the multiple connections of parts that cause it. It's not a harder than expected recoil but it's just unpleasant. Wood would fix it.

Yes, I had an Echo for a brief time, and then sold it. I liked the ergos, but the recoil impulse was nasty to me. A much lighter carbon fiber stock was much more pleasant to shoot with the same barreled action. Wood naturally dampens vibration really well.

They are on the side opposite the bolt in my diagram.

They are also on the bottom, because I like having them there as well.
Sort of on topic, sort of off… do you (and others) like running both cups on the same side? I figured opposite sides would be better… The rear cup on the same side as your handedness (rear cup on right ride for right hander) and the forward cup on the opposite side (left side for right handed shooter).

It seems this would allow carrying cross body easier (both on your front or back) and shouldering the rifle to shoot with the sling on easier too (?). Plus you could use the sling to stabilize offhand shots that way

Feels natural to me but wondering what everyone thinks

Not at all. Both on the same side (opposite bolt) for carrying cross-body. Both on the bottom for carrying over shoulder or using as hasty support.

I ascribe to this configuration. Too used to it from AR.

This is the only way I sling anymore. Rear cup on same side of bolt, front cup on opposite. Limited rotation swivels with a blue force tab adjustable sling.

Cross body carry and can be fired from any position. Let’s you get your pack off quickly without unslinging also.

Started carrying this way with a M16A4 many years ago. Works for an AR, works for a hunting rifle too.

This would be my vote.

What sights are you using on that rifle?

Not to derail the thread, but you're talking crossbody carry in front, muzzle down? I always figured most bolt-action hunting rifles were too long and would be awkward with that AR style carry.

That’s how I like to carry often. Depends on terrain, your height, barrel length, suppressor length etc, but works well for me and doesn’t seem too long. Feels more secure and less likely to flag myself and others.

Yes, exactly. 20” barrel with a TBAC Ultra 7 is no issue with this method of carry (muzzle at shin level). The butt rides high if you’re running the sling over your pack. It does take awareness when moving through boulders, logs, or stumps.IMG_8246.jpeg

Shorter barrels with OTB cans are even better.
