Help finalize the "Dixie Zipper" (Mini CBK) for a group buy

Laser is operational.

I am thinking about putting light engraving on this spot to aid in grip when pinching the blade. Any feedback?

Must have missed something in the photo?

This is one of my newer favorite kitchen knives, and the grip pattern on the blade is great:

I’ll only speak for myself, but I very much prefer a small minimalistic makers mark on my blade.
The “Dixie Idaho” mark on the knife I bought last month is about perfect.

Now functional grip etching is something else entirely. I think I like the example on the kitchen knife above I could see that working well on the zipper

Any final thoughts on the micarta vs g10? Generally prefer micarta on a general purpose knife but g10 seems so practical for a knife that is purpose built to be spending time inside animals.

I’m on team less is more. I see the business angle getting your name out there. My vote would be the LS wild logo only (skip the zipper logo) and put it in the same location as Dixie puts his.

As far as adding grip I think the handle design provides enough grip so isn’t needed. I also wonder if it would impact “slicyness” by the roughness of the logo grabbing meat. Conceptually it seems like it would do “something” but my gut feel is that it would be negligible in practice.

Yeah, I hear you. I am playing with the most extreme, it’s fun and I get it out of my system with brainstorming creative stuff. I don’t like to cut the juices off too soon.

I will test whether the logo adds grip for the pinch cut and reduces sliciness.

Purpose and function first.

But, reality and practicality always win out. I will probably end up with a small simple text “LS Wild” and “Dixie Zipper” on with side in the same spot Dixie does. I just started with what I had for print logos.

And, if someone wants the marking on the edge I will add it.

I think it is personal preference. The difference seems so minimal to me.

Micarta for grip, G10 for simple/clean. But, the difference is nothing material to me.
