Hello all! Wife and I are about 2 months out from finishing up a new house, and I am curious what everyone recommends for appliances in 2026.

Need Full kitchen and washer/dryer.

looking for longevity and value of course! Also middle of the road stuff, do not need 5k smart fridge.... Pros cons experiences?

Thank you!

Our appliance package in our 2019 remodel was Bosch and we are really happy with that choice seven years later. Speed Queen for washer/dryer can't be beaten if you can live with the limited color choices.

We just got a GE Profile fridge and it’s solid. We have a non-agitator LG washer and it sucks. Never get a non-agitator HE Swisher, that’s right, Swisher, because that’s all it does. We have an LG dryer that gives thr D80 error when the thing is wide open. Too damn much overthinking these things.

Speed queen dryers burn clothes. I bought a brand new electric model and it ruined synthetic clothing by burning on the internal exhaust vent. We received a replacement that also burned a lot of expensive clothing. Sold it and don’t miss it one bit.

Can't get repairs on lg or samsung units. I had to replace a high end lg fridge last night. We got 10-12 years out of it. I think the new one is a ge or whirlpool. Really pretty.

Our house was built in 2020 and the kitchen is all LG appliances. I've had issues with all of them except the microwave. I would avoid anything LG moving forward.

Kitchenaide front loader washer/dryer; zero issues after a decade.
Whirlpool Gold (kitchenaide) built-in oven /micro combo; zero issues after 2 decades.
Stove top is a 48" Kitchenaid gas burner/grill combo, works great for the last 20 years but is too big.

No strong recommendations, but some recent experience.

We’ve bought 7 brand new appliances in the past 5 years. Whirlpool (fridges, washer, dryer), Frigidaire (upright freezers), KitchenAid (dishwasher). Stuff that’s been historically solid for us with good reviews. I’ve had to troubleshoot multiple repairs on 4 of the 7 units within 2-3 years of purchasing.

By contrast, we have a 25 yr old Kenmore freezer that’s still works. The quality of today’s products is just not good.

And I would also steer clear of anything GE.

We just bought a new washer (whirlpool) 2 years ago around $900? no issues so far and seems like that thing is running multiple loads a day (3 kids 7, 5, 1.5). However, we talked to a few "sales' people and a couple were super honest. Unless you buy an industrial type washer and drier...they told us to expect 5 years and be happy with it because they just aren't built well anymore.

Our drier is 15+ standard front load. I have done 1 repair on it by replacing the belt and pulley wheel/assembly. IMO, I would by used or refurbished front load plain jane driers and fix them myself if needed. screw looks function is all that matters.

We have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator. 1 issue with the freezer getting sheets of ice in it. Simply a poor designed defrost drain....opened up the drain hole a bit and perfect ever since. I believe it is 11 or 12 years old.

We own several pieces of rental property where we provide all of the appliances.
Between those and our own home, we repair and/or purchase several appliances a year.
Have tried all of the name brands, some with bad results other good.

Through that process, my person opinion is that currently Bosch stands above the others.

Just went w dad for a new fridge. He got a Whirlpool.

Fwiw - Sales girl said everything lasts about 7 yrs now and she doesnt like Samsung. Said LG is the best selling brand they have.

No help with speed queen, but great comments everywhere. We have a Bosch dishwasher and stove and both have been great. DON'T spend the money on a Sub-Zero fridge. And please don't ask how I know.
