Mike does great work, because of that, he gets very busy! He can be a little hard to get a hold of at times, but it’s well worth it. If your just looking for an update, you can call, email, and ask on social media platforms. He will respond on one of them!

Please leave him alone so he can finish the rifle I am waiting for that he told me should be done in February. I just keep telling myself it will be worth the wait. He was responsive to email up until about 6 weeks ago. I would like to think he has hunkered down trying to get these delayed jobs out the door.

If you have not gone to their web page contact section, give that a try. I would imagine someone monitors it frequently.

Hoping the same thing. I'm just trying to touch base with him. He said my rifle would ship mid to late July so I'm just a little behind schedule

I hope this thread doesn’t turn into speculation of how much the guy makes and should be admonished in social media platforms for not immediately returning communication!
If they make quality product, and they are well know for doing so. Then you can expect it to take a little longer than expected but, they should keep you advised of progress.

I was not trying to start any speculation, and I dont mind waiting longer for a quality product. I was just trying to touch base and I was not able to get a hold of Mike through phone, or email

I have been reluctant to say this because of all the rave comments about hca but my rifle is so far past estimated delivery date that I have lost most faith.

I think rokslide should collectively stop supporting gunsmiths and just buy production rifles. I think the majority of us have been oversold and underdelivered by some piece of the custom firearms industry, it’s exhausting. The fact that we continue to perpetuate it by giving these crap business people, and in some cases crap craftsman, our money is shameful.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice…

If you make a quality product then most of us are willing to wait. The problem arises when you deliver a product in double the time, then have it be a piece of garbage. I’d gladly wait for a quality product!

Gunsmiths and taxidermist always seem to be late on delivery and horrible at communicating.

I had the timeline issue with HCA. I sent him all the parts and was told a certain date and he missed it by a couple months. Plus I wasn’t overly impressed with his work. There was bedding compound on top of my carbon barrel up near the muzzle break, on the cheek comb and then I found more on the fore end. The muzzle brake wasn’t even screwed on finger tight and the bottom metal I bought from him had a good ding in it right below the trigger. On top of that, I paid him $175 to cerakote the rifle, he didn’t due to me telling him just to send it back without it because of a bear hunt I had coming up and I didn’t want to wait another two weeks. He sent it back without the refunded $175 and when I asked him about it, he said he had to do some work to my stock so he was going to hang onto the extra cash. Kinda ridiculous and shady that I had to bring it up and that he never mentioned it. But hey, his magazines are pretty nice!

I was quoted 5ish month completion for build, end of this month will be 17 months from date I wrote the 75% down check.
Holy cow! The is the email he sent me June 25th
I've got your barrel prepped and ready for chambering along with quite a few others. I expect to start shipping out the tikka builds next month probably middle or end of. Thank you! Mike @ HCA
