These are terrific little UL chairs but they tend to sink in soft soil but I found a simple solution. LEKI walking stick feet. Problem solved.

IDK man, in the tundra I still see those sinking down pretty readily. But on most other surfaces would likely work out well.

Yeah and at a cost of $30-$40 to get 4 I think there will be a cheaper option and sinking in isn't that bad.

This is a great idea that I haven't seen before. This should work for most softer soils here in CO below treeline as simply adding replacement feet for folding chairs (Ace Hardware) was good enough for me but added some weight. For those that want a cheaper and more versatile solution I think the PVC/Shock Cord idea is better. I plan on making a dual purpose version that will also work as my fishing pole case.

That is an awesome fix, but pretty darn expensive for a few pieces of bungy chord and some grey pvc.

Yeah, but you could make it yourself for a couple bucks. I plan to make some up for my chairs and I like the idea of having multiple uses for them as well.

Gotta laugh at what you think is expensive! We carry filled packs worth thousands of dollars, pay hundreds of dollars for tags, hunting clothes, boots, camp gear, etc but suddenly spending forty dollars is ridiculous. I spend more than that at Happy Hour...on tips! ROTF!

Well you have to have limits and not just throw money at everything and anything. Truthfully the legs of my chair sinking in the ground and needing a good solid yank to dislodge hasn't really bothered me that much to even research a fix, saw this and thought it was cool but not worth the cost.

It's not the price that is expensive, it's what you get that makes it expensive.

Agreed, however the chair is too low already for me. I made the decision this year to upgrade to the Camp Chair to get the extra height at the cost of just under 10oz, so for me it kinda is a big deal (I'm 6'5"). I'd be interested to know what the total weight of the 4 Leki tips is. Another solution I have seen that is cheap but VERY heavy is tennis balls, but 4 would add almost an entire pound. I just wish Big Agnes (Helinox) would look at the tips used on the Walkstool Comfort as I rarely sink in with that.
