I am now sitting on 22 points for elk as a resident of oregon. How much longer do I have til I will draw, my educated guess is 3-5 more years. Rifle tag

Depends on the unit. I’ve spent a lot of time in the walla walla unit, fun but hard hunt.

I have seen some posts today and yesterday showing from people that drew Wenaha- 27 points was the archery guy and 25 was the rifle guy. 26 point guy was gutted he didn’t get Wenaha Archery. You’re getting close!

As a resident, you could have drawn in two of the big three for rifle this year with 22 points. Do you mean you went in this year with 21? You had a chance in two of the big three this year for rifle with 21.

Went in with 21 on Emily rifle, sitting at 22 now. Point creep is definitely getting the best of me. https://oregontags.com/200-series-elk-details/
This give you the idea of what people have as far as points resident and non, definitely a helpful tool

I know a number of people in that boat chasing wenaha and Emily. Point creep not getting any better unfortunately
It’s insane, both my father and I have 22 points since we didn’t draw this year. It does give me time to keep preparing. It’s hard to talk myself into spike hunting those units on a second choice draw. That terrain is no joke, and for a spike lol. But I think it would be a good idea to do it a couple years before the real thing.

Nr is where the biggest bottle neck is, I drew with 20 5 years ago.

You'd be way more prepared than a lot of people going into that hunt tho. 1-3 years of scouting, running cameras and actually hunting would make the year you draw so much less stressful in my opinion.
