Heel fit? Schnee pac vs. Kenetrek pac

Is there a difference in fit between the Schnee Pac and the Kenetrek Pac? Specifically the heel.

I am a 10.5 and my foot is wide in the toe box, narrow in the heel and flat as fresh asphalt. (Borderline need a wide but some regular brands fit)

I own a pair of 13" Kenetrek Grizzly and the heel just seems to big. I can lace the Kenetrek boot so the fit is better, but I really have to crank on it. I am wondering if the Schnee has a narrower heel?

The Schnee does have a fairly narrow heel, but the forefoot is no where near "wide". I have the same type of foot as you and the forefoot on mine feels tight. I have not tried the Kenetrek to compare.

Sorry the last both the Kenetrek and Schnee pacs are built on is the same. You could try a heel cup that will take up some of the excess, but you can't use a footbed as that will take up volume at the forefoot which will make the boots too tight.

Jim, welcome to Rokslide. I will look into the heel cup since I already have the boots. Any suggestions?

put the cup in between the boot and liner or put the cup in the liner

For me the width on the forefoot of the Kenetrek is perfect with a heavy wool sock.

Yes. Plus I already have the boots and I just bought a pair of salomons. My 4 month old daughter has put a halt to my horse trading... The boss said no more gear till 2014.
