I need some help and guidance. I would like to get something that will protect my ears from gun blast but also can enhance sound to help with my old ears. I have mild to moderate hearing loss. On the cheaper side I have looked at the reviews on Axil Xcor Pro and Walker Disrupter. Does anyone have experience with these? Or is there another brand I should look at? On the more expensive list there is ESP Apex and Soundgear Phantoms. Are they really worth the extra $$ ? Any help is appreciated.

I bought a pair of the XCOR Pro on their 50% off Labor Day sale. They're definitely worth what I paid for them. Background noise with protection mode on low is OK at a range or on a construction site, but distracting in low ambient noise environments. Mid and high gain are pretty much useless to me.

One other brand I forgot to mention was Tetra. The Alpha Shield model is interesting with the custom enhancement for the different outdoor sounds. Not sure if it is just hype or not.
