Congratulations to you for sticking it out through all that misery and punching both tags. What an awesome story!

Congrats man! Would love pics and details after you've had a chance to be home and recover a bit.

Hopefully you made it home in time for Thanksgiving!

Cheers.

Here's a few more pics. Packing up to begin the trip home. Should arrive in time for Turkey with the family tomorrow.

Now that's a bull worth an extra special tag. Congratulations on staying the course and seeing it though. Awesome bull and home for Thanksgiving doesn't get much better than that.

You may want to take precautions to cover some of that stuff in the back of your truck from prying eyes. Rolling around the country with what appears to be TP in plain sight could cause some problems along the way.

Great pics and bull!

This post is for the new hunters, young guys and those who are not able to spend 10k or even 1k on a rifle and 3k in Kuiu or Sitka clothing.

I spotted this bull with my $149 Vortex Diamondback 10x42 binos (Black Friday Special). I shot him with my $189 (after rebate) Thompson Center Compass .300 WM topped with a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-14x44 FFP scope that I picked up for just over $300 using a Raise.com gift card and purchasing through my activejunky.com link. The rifle was "highly modified" with a $20 MCarbo trigger spring that I installed after watching a youtube video. I was shooting off the shelf Hornady 178 ELDM as that was all I could find before my hunt. I was wearing my OR Ferossi jacket I picked up on clearance for $30 under an EB Cirrus light puffy thats on sale now for $34. For head protection I chose a Bass Pro Blaze orange cap for $9. Pants are lined EB Guide Pros that I caught on sale for $49. I did blow $150 on the Salewa MT Traininers (which leaked) and $29 for Darn Tough Hunters wool socks. High dollar gear is nice and I don't judge anyone for buying the best or the best they can afford. I do have an older KUIU Icon Pro 3200 that I used to pack out the cow. I was able to get my truck close to where I killed the bull so I just carried him out on my shoulder. No sense cleaning the blood off the pack a second time on this trip.

Congratulations on a very nice bull!

Three weeks of hitting it every day will wear you down. Hopefully you have plenty of time to recover over the holiday weekend before the reality of day-to-day life returns.

Thank you. As luck would have it I drew an AZ 6A late rifle tag. Hunt starts Friday. Hope my bad knee has a few more miles left. I will probably hunt Sunday to Thursday.

Congrats Frank! So so stoked for you man!

For everyone else - I ran down in to meet Frank and look at the unit with him in September. This is exactly the guy you want to win any raffle hunt like this. Such a good dude and it's so fitting he got a great bull after a GRIND.

I love his breakdown of gear up there. He's got all the stuff that makes a great hunter, with perseverance and no excuses being at the top. I've been taking notes. 👊
