The Hawke Frontier 34 FFP series is the absolute apex of the Hawke Optics lineup. While the Frontier 30 is built for general long-range and tactical shooting, the Frontier 34 models are specifically engineered for Extreme Long Range (ELR) precision, competition environments, and heavy-caliber rifles. By stepping up to a massive 34mm mono-tube chassis, these optics maximize internal adjustment range and structural strength while retaining Hawke's premium flagship glass.
Key Features of the Frontier 34 Series
Massive Turret Travel - The main advantage of a 34mm tube is the physical room it provides inside the scope for the erector tube to move. This translates to an immense amount of elevation adjustment, allowing shooters to dial out to extreme distances without running out of clicks:
3-18x50 Model: Offers up to 46 MRAD / 158 MOA of total elevation adjustment.
5-30x56 Model: Offers up to 29 MRAD / 99 MOA of total elevation adjustment.2. Premium System H7 Optics
Like the rest of the Frontier family, the 34mm models utilize Hawke’s top-tier System H7 optical package. It features high-grade, low-dispersion Crown glass with 21 layers of fully multi-coated lenses, yielding edge-to-edge clarity, high contrast, and excellent light transmission.
Exclusively First Focal Plane (FFP) All Frontier 34 scopes are First Focal Plane. This means the reticle scales up and down as you change magnification, ensuring that the hash marks and holdover points remain perfectly accurate and in-scale at any zoom level.
Advanced "Pro Ext" Tactical Reticles The Frontier 34 models feature detailed, Christmas-tree style tactical reticles designed for quick holdovers and windage corrections.
They come in two choices: Mil Pro Ext: 1/10 MRAD click values with grid markings extending out for extreme holdovers. MOA Pro Ext: 1/4 MOA click values with spaced markings extending out to 60 MOA.
Illumination - Both versions feature a multi-LED high-intensity red reticle with 11 brightness settings (with intermittent "off" positions between numbers).
Patented Exposed Zero Lock 'n' Stop - The elevation turret features Hawke's premium locking mechanism. Once you establish your rifle's zero, you lock the stop ring in place. This allows you to dial up as far as you need for a long shot and spin the turret straight back down to a hard stop at your exact zero without counting clicks or slipping past it.

Frontier 34 FFP 3-18x50 - Best Used For: A highly versatile cross-over scope. The 3x low end is wide enough for faster-paced hunting and broad fields of view, while the 18x high end provides plenty of magnification for precision targets.
Weight: 27.9 oz (790g) — remarkably lightweight for a 34mm tactical optic.
Parallax: Side focus down to 15 yards (making it usable on high-end rimfires or airguns as well).Frontier 34 FFP 5-30x56Best Used For: Dedicated Extreme Long Range (ELR) shooting, benchrest precision, and open-country tactical shooting.
Objective Lens: The larger 56mm objective lens maximizes light gathering at high magnification.

Hawke Frontier 30 (30mm Main Tube) The "30" in the name designates a 30mm main tube diameter. This is the more robust, versatile branch of the Frontier family, built for long-range hunting, tactical shooting, and higher-recoil setups.
Tube Size: 30mm mono-tube chassis machined from high-grade aluminum.
Key Advantage: The wider tube allows for a much larger internal tracking system, granting significantly more elevation and windage travel adjustment. It is also structurally more robust to withstand heavy recoil.
Turret Options: Typically features Hawke's patented Exposed Zero Lock 'n' Stop elevation turrets, which allow you to dial out for long distance and return straight back to a hard zero without counting clicks.

The FFP MOA Hunter reticles were developed specifically for First Focal Plane optical systems and based around the common principles of MOA spaced reticles.
The FFP MOA Hunter extends to 32 MOA of holdover and has a fine center dot (0.3 MOA on 4-20x and 0.24 MOA on 5-25x). Both versions of the reticle have 16 MOA of windage holds and thick posts on each side and the lower section for quicker target acquisition when on lower magnification settings.
Because of the FFP optical systems, aimpoints remain true on all magnification settings.
