Getting ready for a NRL Hunter match last week shot this group pictured at 850 on Monday. I figured I was good but I’m ocd and wanted to shoot it again Tuesday just to validate velocity with a few more shots….couldnt hit anything Tuesday morning. Went back to the zero board and it was low left 6-8” began chasing the zero around for over a hour and never could get it to hit the same spot more than two times in a row and then it would jump around again. Changed scope and put 5 in a quarter. Will mail off this week and update when I have an answer.

Update….maven sent me a brand new rs1.2. They just said something was wrong with it they couldn’t figure out so sent the new scope on. From time I sent in to receiving new scope was about 2 weeks they had it 3 days after receiving it before I got the email about sending the new scope.

Hopefully this one will not have the same fate.

Am I wrong for not having 100% trust in the scope and wondering if/when it will happen again?

Wrong, no.

The RS1.2 is less likely to have issues than say a Vortex or Leupold, so your odds of having a good one on the second go should be high.

How old was the broken one? The downside of Maven is they may have altered a spec that effects the reliability over all. But too early to say.

Personally, I would beat on the new one a bit to rebuild trust.

Nightforce fail too. I'm guessing that the Maven RS 1.2 is the most widely community-drop-tested scope of all time. When these caught fire tons of guys were dropping them and passing. It's a solid scope design and you just got (un)lucky.

How early on did you buy this maven? Aren’t there some sticky magnification rings on the later ones but not the first batch of RS 1.2? Just curious.

They all break. If you think yours doesn't....send it to me. I'll kill it in a week. It's my superpower.

Between February and June of last year not sure if exact dates. Only thing that was tight on mine was the parallax knob….like really tight. If it was colder than 40 it could not be turned. New one turns like butter that’s been sitting on the counter for a week.

You jumped right to the scope broke and needed to send it back. Did you diagnose the mounting of the scope? Potentially a cheaper/easier/quicker fix. If not, hopefully Maven makes it right for you. I have a few of these scopes and they work great for me.
