Haul Road DATES?

Can someone help me with information about ideal DATES to hunt Caribou on the haul road? My understanding is that the season for non-residents is August through mid-september. But I also read that there weren't many Caribou on the road until later in September in 2023.

Is that correct that they showed up later this year? Second, is that typical? Or was it an anomaly this year?

expect fowl weather to show up anytime after Sept 6 most years, many years in August will have fits and starts of snow for days. But given the behavior of that herd in recent years I'd target the last 4 days of august until sept 10. Better make sure you have 4 wheel drive
