In the past I've always used either just a headband to hide my big white fivehead or a beanie or stocking cap when it got cold, but after too many years of sun torture I finally went to a full brimmed fedora style hat. Only problem was the string hit the brim so I sewed a piece of Velcro on it to hold it up image.jpegin place when I shoot. only picture I have of it lifted but you get the gist.

I either have my ghillie on that I moded with a ball cap, or a full brim leather outback style hat, i just put a lean on it so it sits on my head like ol Fred bear wore his and I've never had a problem. If my hat ever is in the way I just lift my head quickly and push into my string then bring my head back down. The string moves my hat enough to let me shoot.

Sitka sunhat when it's hot.
Sitka messed up an order and sent me a flatbill. For giggles and satire I wore it one day shooting in the yard. With it rotated over a bit left of center it actually works pretty well!
