Harlequin dream fulfilled

I was fortunate enough to get a morning of duck hunting in during my Sitka blacktail trip and shot a couple Harlequins and a Barrow goldeneye.

I’ve dreamed of getting to hunt them for years and they’re absolutely stunning in person!

Bluebird day with zero wind, so the birds weren’t moving. But the few that came in worked perfectly.

I’m no duck hunter but snagging both those beauties in both drake and hen were a highlight of my first trip to Kodiak over 20 years ago. Congratulations.

Thank you. I’ve dreamed of Sitka deer and Harlequin duck hunting for years and I’m beyond thankful to have experienced both.

The back drop was spectacular, seals swimming under the boat, Sitka deer walking along the beaches and float planes all made it extra fun
