Are these boots kind of similar to a Lowa Tibet as far as fit/function goes? About the same "stiffness"?

Also... I've had bad luck with non-leather uppered boots soaking through while hiking through the wet stuff. With gaiters on, are these boots going to keep my feet completely dry (other than the sweat, obviously)?

Thanks.

I don't have Tibets, but I do have Baffin Pros from Lowa. I like the fit of the Mountain Lights better. I have used them with gaiters, and my feet have been pretty dry with them. I'm not sure if the wetness would be from soaking through or from perspiration from the goretex. These have been my favorite hiking/hunting boot for a couple years, however the durability is not all that great. I have been going through a set a year using them pretty hard. As I keep stats on my hikes, I think I am getting around 300-400 miles out of them, maybe more. They usually go into work boot rotation at that point.

I am going to try the Lowa Cevedale hunters this year. My question with these is am I going to get an extra $100 in durability.

Forgot to say, they seem to fit a little tighter in the heel than my Lowas. I have less heel slip issues, and these are more comfortable.

Thanks Dan. I think I may just stick with another pair of Tibets, or try Lowa's Hunter GTX model.

Not even sure you can still get the Mtn Lights, as tried to order from Lathrop last fall and they did not have my size. It was my understanding that they were having some warranty issues. I ended up with the Tibets and really like them so far. I was surprised at how little break in they required.
